Most gutters in Melbourne's east and south-east are original to the house. After 25 to 40 years the steel rusts through at the joins and corners, the brackets let go, and the fall flattens out so water sits instead of running. Patching buys a season or two. Replacement, or respouting as it's often called, fixes it for decades.
We remove the old gutters, check the fascia behind them, and install new Colorbond gutters on new brackets with a consistent fall to each outlet. Every join is riveted and sealed, and the whole system is set up to meet the Australian plumbing standard for roof drainage, AS/NZS 3500.3.

Choosing a gutter profile
The profile is the shape of the gutter from the side. Most Melbourne homes have quad, the curved front profile that has been standard for decades. Square-line and other modern profiles suit newer and renovated homes. We'll recommend what suits your roof, your rainfall and the look of the house, and quote it at a fixed price.
Do I need new downpipes too?
Often, yes. If the gutters are rusted out, the downpipes and outlets are usually the same age. Replacing them together costs less than doing it twice, and the colours match. If your downpipes are in good condition we'll leave them and connect the new gutters to them.
Common questions
Is respouting the same as gutter replacement?
Yes. Respouting is the Australian term for replacing your gutters, or spouting. We strip the old gutters, fit new Colorbond, and replace the downpipes too if they need it.
How long does gutter replacement take?
It depends on the size of the house and how many storeys it has. We'll give you a realistic timeframe with your quote, and we tidy the site at the end of every day.
Can you replace gutters on a two-storey house?
Yes. Height affects the access equipment needed and the price, which is why we quote each job individually after measuring it.
Will you need to replace my fascia?
Only if the timber behind the gutter is rotten. We check it when the old gutters come off and tell you before doing any extra work. Colorbond fascia cover is an option if the timber is sound but tired.
